The ASBOF Advisory Board was established to support the ASBOF Board of Directors in setting policy directions for the Festival.

The Advisory Board consists of leading music educators from a range of backgrounds including wind band, big band, string, and orchestra.

Members of the Advisory Board are happy to assist Music Directors on a range of issues including:

  • What Festival event level to enter your ensemble
  • Repertoire selection
  • General ensemble/program advice
  • PD opportunities

Mark Brown

Mark is a professional musician who has been involved in music education for over twenty years, currently working at St Mary's Cathedral College. Mark has adjudicated at the ASBOF many times and can advise you about repertoire selection and all other aspects of your band program.

Garry Clark
Garry is a highly-respected name in music education, playing a central role in the development of musical talent in the Western Sydney region. Garry has previously adjudicated at the Festival and is happy to assist you with any aspect of the Primary School sections of the Festival.

Deborah Dietz

Deb is a highly experienced Music Director who has been associated with the ASBOF for over 20 years. Deb has previously adjudicated at the Festival and is willing to assist you with repertoire selection, re-scoring parts and advice on what adjudicators might be looking for in a performance.

Loreta Fin

Loreta is a highly experienced educator and adjudicator who has presented at conferences all over Australia as well as the 2007 and 2009 American String Teachers’ Association Conferences. Loreta has written over 90 publications for young string orchestras.

Dr Luke Gilmour

Luke completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and is the currently working at the Shore School in Sydney. He is the former President of ABODA NSW and is happy to advise you about any aspect or your Festival entry or band program.
