The ASBOF provides an excellent platform for students, conductors and school communities to aspire to higher levels of musicianship. Having been involved for many years, I am continually impressed with the Festival’s professionalism and support of music making in our school communities.

Dr Luke Gilmour, Director of Music, Cranbrook School

The Australian School Band and Orchestra Festival is an absolutely amazing event.  It is wonderful to see such fantastic music-making happening in Australian schools and I strongly recommend you get involved. It is an honor to part of this Festival which is undoubtedly one of the best of its kind anywhere! I look forward to returning soon and often.

Peter Boonshaft (Adjudicator, clinician), Hofstra University

My involvement with the ASBOF began as a member of the Waverley Bondi Beach Band (now Bondi Brass) as a helper with the running of the Festival. As a conductor, I found receiving feedback for the performance as one of its most valued aspects to help improve my groups.

Deborah L Dietz; BS Hons, MS Hons Univ of Illinois (Adjudicator, Conductor, Horn instructor and performer), Hornsby Girls High School (Retired)

I have been involved with the Festival for many years and adjudicated more than once. On each return I hear a definite improvement of the ensembles. Public performance and positive adjudication is essential to building bigger and better instrumental music programs. The Festival is proof positive.

Dr. Randy Navarre, DMA (Adjudicator, Publisher), Northeastern Music

I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with the ASBOF. The event has such a positive atmosphere and is very well organized. Everyone, from clinicians to directors and participants, are treated with great respect and kindness, creating a very professional atmosphere. This event is a must for any band looking for a great performance opportunity.
