Megan Lipworth
Megan Lipworth is a dedicated music educator and dynamic conductor of bands and orchestras, working in a variety of schools and community arts organisations, including ASBOF’s affiliated ensemble, Bondi Brass.
Meg trained as a professional percussionist at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Sydney University, has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Macquarie University, and has begun her Master of Teaching.
Meg is a song writer and producer, a dancer, and an early-childhood entertainer. Her accolades and achievements include an ARIA Awards nomination for Best Children’s Album with her band ‘TIPTOE GIANTS’.
As a conductor and instrumental tutor Meg has had a long tenure working as a conductor and tutor in percussion and vocals with the Department of Education’s Arts Unit, including their State Music Camps, and other premiere organisations such as the Sydney Youth Orchestras. She was also the 2020 recipient of the ASBOF Cliff Goodchild Scholarship for Conducting.
Meg has a profound respect for the capacity of young people to learn and perform. She is passionate about accessible and inclusive education, and ensuring students have a memorable, versatile, and long-lasting experience making music with others through their school years and beyond.
Meg is dedicated to collaborating with, and mentoring others, working to deliver outstanding music education experiences. She is currently an active serving member of the Australian Band and Orchestra Directors Association (ABODA) NSW Committee.
